LEGO Ninjago, Pirate Ship or Ferrari?

Posted on 28/02/22

LEGO a shortened Danish word 'leg godt', meaning play well is a company founded by Ole Kirk Christiansen in 1932, Billund, Denmark. Since then, there has been an amazing amount of LEGO creations. Which is your favourite? Ninjago, Pirate Ship or Ferrari?

How did LEGO bricks come about? #

Believe it or not, Ole Kirk Christiansen was actually a carpenter and was originally making wooden toys to sell. At the end of World War II, many traditional materials used in the manufacture of products were not readily available, so he had to look for other cheap, plastic alternatives.

In 1947, the Lego company was the first toy manufacturer in Denmark to purchase a plastic injection moulding machine. This was quite a change and a challenge for him as he had been working with wood all his life. By 1949, LEGO was producing a plastic product called the Automatic Binding Brick. His son Godtfred succeeded him and vital to moving the company forward.

Lego Ninjago was introduced in 2011. It is the first theme to be based on ninja since the discontinuation of the Lego Ninja theme in 2000. Ninjago (previously known as Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu until 2019) is a computer-animated television series produced by The Lego Group.

Ninjago City set consist of over 4000 pieces and would probably cost me my month's mortgage! Be not disheartened if you love the exciting world of ninjas battling against evil but like me may not have the money to indulge. There are many other Ninjago products that are still plenty of fun and affordable. You can start with smaller sets and build it up slowly. The most important is your imagination!
